If anyone accidently picked up a watch with their coat at tonights session please bring it next week & give it to one of the leaders to return it.

The scouts are currently all working towards the athletics badge as a troop.

So far the challenges have included the dare devil egg and spoon race, the herculean ball throw challenge and the not to be missed blind fold races.

Coming soon we have the jumping challenge, the skipping race and a secret extra challenge.

Individual scouts are working towards their hobbies, art, sport enthusiast, equestrian, master at arms and marshal arts badges. Good luck guys and keep on trying it will be worth it.

Future challenges and events will be featured here. If this is something you are interested in why not contact us to see if you can join in. Existing scouts remember this is your troop and if there is something you want to do talk to the leaders and we will see what we can do.

Also coming up is the summer camp. Between now and then we’ve got a lot planned but you’ll never know if you don’t turned up.

Just remember now the nights are lighter we are going outside a lot more some bring suitable clothes for when you aren’t in uniform.

Summer is approaching and the scouts are out and about.

Just a reminder to all scouts that we are going to be outside a lot more now it’s lighter in the evenings.

So please remember to wear/bring suitable clothes/shoes under your uniform.

Any questions speak to one of the leaders.

A gentle reminder though to take your belongings home with you too!

Fire Fighting Cubs

The cubs paid a visit to Worcester fire station. They were treated to a look round a fire engine,

and the equipment used,

and also had a go at a hose.

The visit went well and the cubs that were there asked lots of good questions.

Many thanks to Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue for showing us around.

Beavers Visit to Pets At Home , Blackpole11th May

As part of the Animal Care Activity Badge the Beavers will be visiting Pets at Home at Blackpole Trading Estate on Friday 11th May. If you are unfamiliar with the shop it is where the MacDonalds is over in the corner by Lidls.

Meet just outside the store at 5pm and pick up from same location 6pm.

Uniform to be worn please.

Sixers, Seconders & Older Cub camp report

Over the weekend of the 31st March and 1st April, the Sixers, seconders and Older Cubs attended a camp at Helen’s farm.

They took part in a wide range of activities aimed at getting ready to go to Scouts (including doing the washing up for themselves!)

Although it was damp on Saturday, very cold overnight and the tents were covered in ice on Sunday morning, the Cubs all remained in brilliant spirits and threw themselves (literally sometimes) into the activities for the weekend.

Activities included:

Pitching their own tents

Learning how to light a fire (with one match!)

Making soup on a small outdoor cooker

Planning their own routes for a 1km walk

Scout’s own service on Sunday morning

Assault course run by the Explorer Scouts called “Shoot the Moose!”

Wide game – played in the dark to track down keys to “disarm a dangerous device”

Making dog-tags and paracord bracelets and key-rings

All in all, we had a lot of very tired, but smiling Cubs at the end of the camp!
