Cubs
When you join Cubs you are joining a Worldwide Movement which started over 100 years ago! You become a member of a Scout Group which includes Beavers, Cubs and the Scouts which you move up to when you are about 10 ½.
The Cub leaders are named after Jungle Book characters. The Cub leader is Ian Dimmick – Akela with Assistant leaders is Catherine Cook – Baloo, Mike Simpson – Hathi and Sarah Harrison – Mysa. Our helper is Darren Fletcher- Bagheera, the panther and we have Lauren who is a young leader.
We are all unpaid volunteers who have to juggle work & family life with our Scouting commitments so may have to change times/dates or request parental help occasionally.
Subscriptions:
We give you a free 3 week trial so that you know that Cubs is for you. We then have a £15 joining fee that covers your necker & handbook that you get when you take your Promise and are invested. The Subs are £12 per month which we ask you to get your parents to set up as a standing order at their bank.
When & Where:
We meet every Friday evening during school term time. Occasionally we meet at other venues such as Helen’s farm and other off-site locations.
Activities:
You take part in many different activities and earn lots of badges. We have at least one camp every year. Last year we did climbing, archery, football & lots more.
